Concerned members of the sportfishing industry and California anglers groups have joined to form a California Sportfishing Advocacy Campaign. The two main goals for the campaign are to:

• Maximize conservation of our marine environment
• Minimize unwarranted closures of California's coastal waters to sportfishing under California's Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA).

Under the MLPA, many of California's best marine sportfishing and boating areas are either closed or will be closed to recreational fishing.

Saltwater anglers, such as you, are a major economic force in Califonia.

At $225 million, California earns more state tax revenue's from sportfishing than any other state.

• At $2.6 Billion, sportfishing retail sales are equivalent to the value of the state's grape harvest.
• In fact, 15,600 jobs in California are dependent upon saltwater sportfishing.
• Now is the time to show what anglers and boaters mean to California!
